Welcome to InfoITALIA.co.uk the website that hopes to bring you everything you need to know about Italy.
For the time being we have dedicated this site to Mark and Geoff who are cycling from Tameside in Manchester to Italy travelling along side the River Rhine then over the Alps into Italy. Once through the alps their journey will continue on through the Apennine Mountains to eventually arrive in Careggine, a remote village in the Garfagnana region of Tuscany sometime in early September.
Mark from Dukinfield and Geoff from Hadfield are funding the journey themselves and hope to raise money for the Local Charity "Willow Wood Hospice" with the help of Tameside Radio.
We can guarantee that 100% of the money raised will go directly to the charity and that any expenses incurred will be borne by

This charity cycle ride was carried out in August/Septemeber 2011 from Dukinfield and Hadfield, (Manchester), to Careggine, (a small village in Tuscany).
The route mileage was taken from an A - B route finder and is actually incorrect. The actual mileage cycled is approximately a little over 1,300 miles (2,100 KM), taking into consideration cycling through small villages, around mountains trying to find places to sleep and of course - wrong turnings.
The route met with many unexpected encounters, Geoff became ill and Mark either fell off his bicycle or knocked someone down in every Country they travelled through.
Even with these difficulties they both found it an enjoyable experience and of course raised some monies for a truly worth while cause for WillowWood Hospice in Ashton Under Lyne.
