Campania is located on the southern, (west), coast of Italy.

It covers an area of 13,590 kmē, (5,250 sq mi), with a population of a little over 5.8 million people making it the most densely populated region in Italy. Campania has 5 provinces: Avellino, Benevento, Caserta, Naples and Salermo of which Naples is the regions Capital.

This region is steeped with history, beauty, culture and cuisine. Possibly most memorable for the eruption of Mount Vesuvius near Naples engulfing Pompeii in the first century and still being classed as active today, it has beautiful sights such as Sorrento with the Amalfi coast and is home to the islands of the Bay of Naples being the Isle of Capri, Ischia, Procida and a few islets. It is shameful in that it is lesser recognised as being the area where the Pizza was first conceived.
