Umbria is located in the heart of Italy landlocked by Tuscany to the west, Marche to the east and Lazio to the south making it the only region that does not have a coastline.
It has an area of 8,456 kmē, (3,265 mē) and a population of around 906,940 people.
The region consists of two provinces: Perugia and Terni, Perugia being regions Capital.
Whilst Umbria is made up of hills and mountains it boasts some magnificent water falls, (marmore in Valnerina), and some of the largest lakes in Italy.
